WRESTLING UNCLE PHILYAW

J. Wellington Phillyaw is a looney computer genius that fantasizes that he's Commander Galactus, an influential leader for a far galaxy destined to save earth and establish a righteous world government. When he expelled from the latest of many sanitoriums for his bizzare and disruptive behavior, it becomes the burdensome task of his nephew Melvin Philyaw, a professional wrestler with the ring name of Dr. Doomsday, to find him a suitable place to stay. Thus it is that he enters the already-turbulent existence of recently-widowed Sally DeLuchia, a cigar-chomping wrestling promoter and her attractive daughter, Sandy DeLuchia.

The DeLuchias are trying to retain their family's interest in a sports arena by obtaining a Wrestling Federation cable franchise which would make them financially independant. But this prospect becomes complicated when Tim Laughner, a young would-be lawyer who works for the state revenue department, serves them with a summons for back taxes amounting to $50,000. To make matters worse, the management company that holds the mortgage on the arena is seeking to foreclose for delinquent lease payments.

When Laughner becomes aware of collusion between a prominent tax official and Anthony Peschico, the chairman of the management committee, who law enforcement authorities believe to be a powerful organized crime figure, he decides to help the DeLuchias preserve their ownership of the arena. Part of his plan involves utilizing the computer expertise of J. Wellington Phillyaw?Galactus to hack into the data files of the tax department to acquire incriminating evidence. Then the deranged genius electronically transfers $50,000 from the management company coffers to satisfy the bogus tax levy.

The result is an attempt by Peschico to torch the arena. But Phillyaw/Galactus effectively thwarts the plot using the most unlikely defense mechanisms and enables the DeLuchias and Laughner to prevail. An off-the-wall comedy for an audience of all ages.
